Three-column, equal height, liquid layout

A just read a piece by Alan Pearce at A List Apart that described how to achieve the almost unachievable - a three-column, equal height, liquid layout that plays nice in all browsers.

I tried to make something similar to this not long ago and failed miserably. I ended up using fixed positions on a couple of divs to achieve the effect of equal height columns as well as full-height, no-matter the content, columns. However, the solution described in the article really looks beatiful when you see the markup. It remain to see if it survives over time and how well adopted it will become, but it sure looks good to me.
